Bruce Bischof, beloved co-founder of Live Education!, passed away in 2025 after a courageous five-year journey with cancer. Bruce remained dedicated to his life’s work until the very end, still writing and dreaming up new contributions to Waldorf education just a week before he passed. His passion, creativity, and commitment to children’s learning lives on in every page of our curriculum. Waldorf education was not only his vocation, it was his mission, his art, and his joy.
Bruce was so deeply encouraging and supportive of me in my journey of homeschooling my 4 kids. He made me feel like I was doing the best job in the world, and bringing my kids the utmost best of myself. I loved and cherished our annual conversations as we worked through the Live Ed curriculum. My youngest finished her 8th grade last year, and we still lingered through some of the Live Ed this year in grade 9, thanks to Bruce’s advice to pace myself. Thank you, Bruce. You changed my world.

His work alongside Rainbow’s helped me bring a Waldorf education to my children 20 years ago. I still treasure every single book from the curriculum that I collected over the years. Thank you for Bruce for making that beauty happen for my family.

The beauty of Bruce’s work touched our family, instilled a love of art in both of my children.
