AWOCS Founder's Conference

Dear Waldorf-Oriented Charter School Administrators and Lead Teachers,

We are looking forward to the upcoming Founderís Conference for the new Association of Waldorf-Oriented Charter Schools (AWOCS). The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd, at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California. We would like to update you more specifically on our plans and request that you let us know, as soon as possible, if a representative(s) from your school will be attending.

At this point, the schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, February 22:
An informal dinner and social evening for those who are able to make it.
Thursday, February 23:
Meetings throughout the day and into the evening.
Friday, February 24:
A possible task force meeting in the morning.

We anticipate a small group of attendees, allowing all participants to meet together, rather than in break-out sessions. We feel confident that the size of the group will lead to meaningful discussion and help us to develop a solid foundation upon which our organization can grow and thrive.

The agenda has been slated to include:

-An assessment of the original impulse for creating this organization two years ago.
-An Appreciation Inquiry, led by George Hoffecker, to explore participantsí visions for this new organization and to produce a mission statement that will guide the development of our work in the future.
-A canvassing of the attendees to establish the kind of support their school would most benefit from.

A final agenda will be sent by email in the week before the conference. If you have any suggestions for how we should further shape the day, please send them to me at the email address below.

In these last weeks, please help us to finalize our list of expected attendees. If your school will be sending a representative, please write to me with his or her name and contact information at rainbow@live-education.com.

Warmly,

Rainbow Rosenbloom
Founding Director,
Live Education!
