The entirety of the second year Live Education curriculum has been completely revised page by page, the content reorganized and enhanced with more examples, stories and illustrations. Much of the content has been rewritten in such a way that each book coheres and integrates with all of the others. Gone is most of the clip art and is replaced with many new original illustrations. Gone are any redundancies that carried over from one book to the other, and each book is laid out clearly in such a way that the teacher can proceed through it page by page, lesson by lesson.
The curriculum is entirely complete in itself. The teacher will not need to hunt down source books. The 2010 edition is filled with more than eighty fables, nearly twenty original retellings of saint's legends, nearly a dozen original retellings of the Buddha's Jataka Tales, and more than twenty original retellings of Native American legends with accompanying nature science lesson activities.
The directions for the daily lesson activities in each block of study, such as language arts or math skills, have been rewritten and added to with more content in order to bring greater clarity and more lesson activity ideas for the teacher.

We are excited to announce the first Live Education! Winter Homeschooling Seminar, to be held February 26-28, in Fairbanks, Alaska!
For parents homeschooling children of all ages, this seminar will highlight the use of Waldorf methods to present skill-building academic work in a creative and imaginative way. It will also feature age-specific break-out sessions in language arts, math, and handwork.
Please save the dates, and check back for more detailed information and registration to open soon!
The 1st annual Live Education! Summer Seminar was a huge success, attracting more than 25 families from all over the country, from as far away as Rhode Island, New York, Kentucky, Alaska, as well as from all over California. All participants did eurythmy, drawing, handwork, and music, as well as studying both the spiritual and pedagogical foundations of Waldorf education. The afternoons were free to either have individual consultations for next year's homeschooling, or to explore the magnificence of Santa Cruz's redwood forests and beaches. Below are a couple of comments from attendees.
I was so impressed with the presenters! Each fully embodied what they were teaching.
I have never attended a conference where each member of the faculty attended their colleagues' sessions; this not only added to the intimacy of the conference, but also allowed for a wonderful sense of integration. Each presenter would refer to discussions/activities from previous sessions. Thank you Live Education!
Make plans to join us next summer (probably 3rd wk of July) for 5 days of inspiration and joyous celebration!
Live Education! has reorganized, revised, and expanded our Kindergarten curriculum. This includes additional artwork and two new books:
Kona Pacific Public Charter School opened this fall in Kona, Hawaii with grades K-4 and is almost full with nearly 100 children. This newest Waldorf-inspired charter school had a nearly two year planning phase, and Live Education! worked in close consultation with the faculty and administration to develop a promising new home for public Waldorf education on the big island.
In addition, we are always writing, artistically improving, and revising Live Education! materials! Most recently we have added new booklets to our 7th and 8th grade packages, so check the curriculum pages to see what's now on offer.
On Wednesday, July 23, join Rainbow in Golden, CO for a free presentation about how public charter schools and homeschooling families are using Waldorf methods to better prepare children to meet the future.
